Q: Would adding Cardo speakers be feasible realizing I'd probably need to do some trimming of the padding in the ear area? I'm hoping there's room. Thanks George

Asked by: George T Leslie - 1/17/2025
A: Hello,

Fortunately, The Daytona cruiser has room for speakers, there is no need to modify or cut anything.

Thank you,

Q: Are these helmets compliant with the ANZI Z89.1 standard or equivalent to a Type II hardhat?

Asked by: Mark Tresselt - 4/30/2026
A: No—motorcycle helmets are not compliant with ANSI Z89.1 and are not considered equivalent to a Type II hard hat.

Here’s why:

1) Different standards for different hazards
ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 is specifically written for industrial head protection (hard hats)—it defines testing for:
Impact from falling objects
Penetration resistance
Top vs. lateral impact (Type I vs. Type II)
Electrical insulation (Class G, E, C)
Motorcycle helmets are designed to meet standards like DOT, ECE, or Snell, which focus on:
High-speed crash impacts
Sliding/abrasion
Head deceleration in collisions

These are fundamentally different hazard profiles.
