Riders looking for a safe helmet that still allows the open feel of the road should look no further. Shoei's J-Cruise open face helmet provides full cranial protection, with 2 optional shields that can be easily deployed or removed. The build in sun visor can be easily controlled on the side of the helmet, and the UV blocking, scratch-proof, pinlock ready shield provides wind and debris protection when in use. The Advanced Integrated Matrix+ shell structure ensures a rigid yet flexible helmet, while the comfortable and fully removable liner keeps riders cool and protected. When it comes to open face helmets with sunshields, there can be no comparison to the J-Cruise.

Great Open Faced Lid
I have the Neotec and love it. I recently purchased a HD Ultra and the wind screen design took air away from the full faced helmet making it hot. I am a big believer in getting the best safety gear I can afford for the bike and found the J-Cruise to fit my noggin well. This is a compromise design for Shoei since it goes against their full face design philosophy. I find the helmet to be very light and well ventilated. The air scoop design works as well as the video claims. The face shield is a little Euro-nerdy as it comes well below the chin. However, in a rainstorm you will appreciate the fact it covers so much of the face. From a design stance, it also helps protect the face from the initial hit. The internals to the helmet are modular meaning you can easily pull our the insides for cleaning/drying. The helmet is fairly quiet at highway speeds. I have installed an intercom in the lid, so some of the factory quietness has gone away. The cheek and temple pads have a depressed area for those who wear glasses or sun shades. The strap is easy to use with large rings and a locator tab on the inner ring. I normally wear sun glasses so the sun shade on this unit has not been used as much as a full face design. For those days where I do not have sun glasses the sun shade does work well. Note that the helmet design does not take away from the front of the helmet's fit. I found many of the competitor designs took the built in sun shade cavity away from the inside of the helmet, making the helmet's fit tighter than I like. One small minor issue I had with the face shield was the fact you have to pull up with the left hand to overcome the shield's locking mechanism. I was use to the Neotec where one could use either hand to raise the face shield. This was a short lived issue as I became use to the fact I needed to unlock the shield before I came to a stop. I recommend this helmet

If you have a $100 head, buy a $100 helmet. This helmet, however, is high quality. Truly awesome in any situation - rain or shine, night or day, cold or hot, or any combination.
